A complete rebrand for a Bloomsbury café with a rich story to tell.
Seacole Kitchen Coffee & Gastro in Bloomsbury came to me for a complete rebrand. Named after the inspiring Jamaican nurse Mary Seacole (1805–1881) — best known for caring for the sick and injured during the Crimean War — the café had a wealth of history to draw on.
Hosted by The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, I explored scientific illustrations from the period and combined them with geometric shapes, forming an identity that recognises the past while looking forward to the future. The system runs across packaging, signage and the café's interior.
